Daya Bay Wins Two First Awards in the EDF Safety Challenge Competition

Daya Bay Nuclear power Operations and Management Co., Ltd. (DNMC), one of CGN’s subsidiaries, ranks again at the top in terms of “capacity factor” and “nuclear safety/automatic shutdown” in the EDF Safety Challenge Competition in Paris on March 27, 2014.
The EDF Challenge Competition is among the most influential competitions in nuclear power field worldwide. Originated in 1999, the contest attracts 64 similar reactors from France, China, South Korea and South Africa each year. The purpose is to review the safety performance of these reactors in the previous year and to honor the best units and the best operators. DNMC has won cumulatively 31 titles in this competition by far.
Daya Bay NPP has made a record safe operation for 20 years since the commercial operation of its first unit. By the end of February 2014, it has supplied 489.229 billion KWh.
